KUTV 2News: Pay It Foward
After working as a regular video editor for KUTV for four years, starting in 2024 I was promoted to editing the sponsored Pay It Forward segments in addition to my regular duties. During this time, I honed my ability to shave off awkward pauses and "massage" footage in order to keep things under a brisk 1:40 runtime.
It was also a distinct pleasure to work with lead anchor, Mark Koebel (who's just the sweetest guy) and reporter Kristen Kenney (who's a wonderful delight).

Here are the videos I have done with the talented Marj Desius, a local singer to Salt Lake City, but originally hailing from Haiti!
Notable for being where I cut my teeth on doing a more dreamy, cross-dissolve-heavy editing style (even if I may have overdone it at first).
An emotional cover of Adele's "Hello," rewritten in Haitian-Creole and lamenting the state of Haiti after the tragic 2010 earthquake. Notable for trending in Marj's home country, with many touched by its heartfelt message.
A fervent hymn medley for Easter. I had lot of fun figuring out how to duplicate Marj several times onscreen, allowing her to sing all parts. (I had less fun standing in that freezing cold water, but if I was going to make her do it, I figured I'd also suffer for her art in solidarity)
A lively Haitian-creole cover of Meghan Trainor's "Better When I'm Dancing."
A lovely little cover of Jessie J's flashlight, filmed with Marj's husband at the Utah state capitol (day) and a local nightclub (night). I got a parking ticket making this! The sacrifices we make for art, am I right?
Making Magic Productions' coverage of Salt Lake FanX convention
Pro bono work I did for a local Youtube channel (sadly now defunct) and their coverage of the SLC FanX convention (formerly SLC Comic Con), circa 2014-2015.
Notable for being where I honed my sense of "Micky Mouse-ing," or in other words, making gestures and actions feel in sync with the music.
